thanks

The email thanks and the friendfeed thanks...

... were a big difference feeling wise on several levels, interestingly not only for me, but others too.

Whether they realise it or not.

On the one hand I got a great email of thanks, someone had personally thanked me and it made me feel good, and I thank them for that too. I am glad they had that success.

On the other I started a thread in essence as a sort of doubled edged sword, one side just saying in a roundabout "rant-less" way my defence of those who have done this, as I have been in their shoes too, the other side being I KNEW it would get a response. I knew alot of them would come from those who use it alot (and well IMO) which will help everyone.

Well the personal thanks fired me right up, and I realise it's simply because it was a personal thing, them feeling great and sharing it... with me.  thanks...  :o)

The friendfeed thanks, although not actually said, I know someone will be glad I posted it, if it helps one person great. It never made me feel anything like that one personal email.

Even though it possibly helps more people.
It started users thinking more about it, maybe we should have a thread like that every three months! ;o)

None of the friendfeed users will have felt as good as the person who emailed me either.

A personal touch, in a world of "less bodily attachment and more digital attachment" is something good.

Like the "A blogger" who loses the personal connection with their early readers. It will be something you remember.

Have ya thanked anyone personally recently?
